This is the third time in Kimura's three professional bouts where I've felt sorry for her opponent. I said it before: Kawaii but deadly. Amazing talent.

Can We Get This Image Out There? (Trump Nazi Face)

For a few years now, I've been concerned about the propaganda value of the image Trump uses on Truth Social, where his face is juxtaposed with a US flag. Considering what an enemy Trump is to democracy, it's a revolting image--but from the standpoint of propaganda, it's undeniably potent. I haven't seen many efforts to counter it, so I've made one using Photoshop. If anyone has the graphic design skills, feel free to improve it or put together your own. Friday, June 27, 2025 -- Venue: Korakuen Hall, Tokyo -- Satoko Ozawa vs. Mona Kimura in the Krush women’s flyweight division

A word or two about why Kimura's such an interesting athlete: She uses a style that hasn't been seen before in kickboxing. Instead of using roundhouse kicks or low kicks with a lot of hip rotation, Kimura uses her hopping kick like a jab to her opponent's head. It's effective because she's able to maintain stability while keeping her leg cocked and aimed--and when she fires off the kick, there's little warning. Everyone's watching to see just how far she can take this unusual technique.
